The designs are inspired by the sacred mandala, which is used as a map representing the gods in Eastern religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Shintoism, and especially in Shintoism as a heavenly, divine or actual shrine. Mandalas generally represent the spiritual journey, starting from the outside and progressing through the layers to reach the inner core.
